Sea Pines is full of winding, shaded bike trails all throughout the community. As a child, it was my favorite thing to do as we spent all day out and about. Our kids now love it just as much. We will just pick a destination and go!
Need a bike? We like to rent from the Peddling Pelican at Sea Pines Center.
Some of our favorite rides from 16 Wagon are:
- Harbour Town – great destination for a stroll around the harbor, playtime on the playground, eating at one of the restaurants there and of course, the Gregg Russell show. The fastest route to Harbour Town is shown below. It is how we go but it does involve being on a quiet street some of the time and not just on the bike trails.
- South Beach – another great destination for checking out the Salty Dog and of course buying a t-shirt. It’s also a great view of the tip of the island towards Daufuskie.
- Beach Club Loop – we do this a lot. The only caveat is making sure it is low tide when you want to do it. We’ll take the bike trails to the beach club and then ride our bikes back on the beach. Exit at marker 25 or 26 and you’ll be across the street from our home. We go clockwise because usually that is the direction of the wind so you can bike with the wind in your back. Much easier!!
- Lawton Stables – now this is always a favorite! Grab an apple or a carrot and head on up to the stables. You can feed a horse or pony and walk around the petting area. Lots of fun for the whole family.
- Forest Preserve – right across from the stables is the entrance to the forest preserve. That’s a really neat place to get off the beaten path and enjoy looking at one of the many lakes and see some beautiful sights!
